@slf_svrgn @purphat @koeppelmann In this case, client teams have been scrambling to understand the situation so they can figure out what to fix for the last couple of hours! Already some good hypotheses:
https://twitter.com/preston_va...

@koeppelmann We suspect this is caused by the implementation of Proposer Boost fork choice has not fully rolled out to the network. This reorg is not an indicator of a flawed fork choice, but a non-trivial segmentation of updated vs out of date client software.

@koeppelmann Please don't regret it. Truth-seeking is more important than "not giving the wrong people rhetorical ammunition" or whatever.

@BinanceMoon_ @overhtmoon520 @NathanpmYoung @ESYudkowsky @slatestarcodex @eigenrobot @s8mb @robertwiblin @willmacaskill @moskov Not sure what remarks you mean. But in general I am hopeful that the Russian war in Ukraine will convince everyone that invading people is a really bad idea and a risk not worth the reward and we can have peace for at least another half century.

@overhtmoon520 @NathanpmYoung @ESYudkowsky @slatestarcodex @eigenrobot @s8mb @robertwiblin @willmacaskill @moskov Wealthy people having huge numbers of children is good for wealth de-concentration (assuming inheritance is shared fairly etc)
Main argument against is that it might distract them from their work, which in some cases makes a far bigger impact on the world.

@terrelljstarr Many people seem to have a strong aversion to two groups with weapons fighting each other, but no aversion to one group with weapons brutalizing another group without weapons that cannot fight back.
Ceasefire will not stop what's happening to civilians in Kherson and Mariupol.

@overhtmoon520 @NathanpmYoung @ESYudkowsky @slatestarcodex @eigenrobot @s8mb @robertwiblin @willmacaskill @moskov > We need to look at this view dialectically. Without more people, there will be no more new technologies.
Fully agree with this. Also my main argument against anti-population environmentalism.

@overhtmoon520 @NathanpmYoung @ESYudkowsky @slatestarcodex @eigenrobot @s8mb @robertwiblin @willmacaskill @moskov The reason for this is that taking care of 2*n children takes less than twice the effort of taking care of n children.
They can share resources, entertain each other, etc.
(I have two sisters ~15y younger than myself so this comes in part from personal experience)

@overhtmoon520 @NathanpmYoung @ESYudkowsky @slatestarcodex @eigenrobot @s8mb @robertwiblin @willmacaskill @moskov My main "weird opinion" on this topic is that I think we should get away from this mindset that in an ideal world everyone would have ~2 children. Maybe it's better if some families have 5 kids and others have 0.
(of course tax subsidies for the 5-kid family are a good idea)

Quick math explanation:
This is a blinded proof of membership. We want to prove `P(z) = y` without revealing `z` (but `y` is public). Normally, a proof is `Q = (P - y) / (X - z)`. Here, we instead do `Q = (P - y) / (rX - rz)` to blind `z`.
And prove that `z` is a root of unity. https://twitter.com/IACR_News/... https://t.co/H91JYbA60c

I love seeing people with .eth in their handles arguing with each other on twitter.
Diversity of opinions is fun, and it's even more fun when there's an in-your-face reminder that no matter how much you disagree on small stuff ultimately you still love the same cryptocurrency.
