@enscand @GYamey @jenfns It's very reasonable to be skeptical of "A" poll. There are all sorts of ways to mess up plus even some degree of bad luck with sampling.
But this is very consistent over years, across different wording, pollsters, polling methods, etc.
People still are confused about it.🤷

@JimRosenthal4 @TheMemeticist I did all of mine with the pleats vertical because it seemed like it would have more structural support, but in hindsight I'm not sure how much support that filter media would provide regardless. Maybe it's all from the cardboard.

@wsbgnl @GidMK "Doing alright" as an MD or in academia is falling far behind finance or senior corporate jobs in terms of income inequality, often with similar backgrounds. This wasn't true until the past few decades.
I don't know if this is a factor, but it seems it could be.

@wsbgnl @GidMK I wonder to what extent this is a function of high income inequality. Credentialed experts may feel a lot of pressure to self-promote in order to try to keep up with their higher-paid counterparts in industry, finance, etc.
