If you make a prediction like "these vaccines are going to continue to work just as well for 10 years" then you could turn out to be wrong. No one did that as far as I know.

I don't know what part of that is hard to understand. The strain update has only been tested in animals, as is done with flu shots. The vaccine itself, with earlier strains, has been tested in clinical trials.
