@Nutmeg031992 @girl75219 @ScottGottliebMD @morgfair There was always going to be a large delta winter wave, in fact it was already happening in most northern states BEFORE Omicron.
Michigan hospitals and others had been on crisis standards for at least a month or two before.

@Darren051275 @Breaking911 Every state has it. People aren't turned away from the ER regardless of status, they're just treated there at much higher cost.

Replacable filters cost $2 each but don't need to be replaced until it becomes hard to breath. Likely a long time in a classroom with generally clean air.

@BitcoinTarzan @denise_dewald Would it be impossible if the fatality rate were 30%? If it produced horrific and highly-visible disfigurement of survivors? If it caused persistent (possibly permanent) and costly disruption of the economy?
That word likely doesn't mean what you think it means.

@princessresist @jklmd123 @CDCgov Even before Omicron the vast majority of breakthroughs were later in the year. Delta plus waning immunity. So all of those summaries that go way back were very misleading (including covering a period when not many were even vaccinated).

@Nutmeg031992 @girl75219 @ScottGottliebMD @morgfair I'm talking about before boosters. Boosters was a bit of a twist, yes, but I don't think anyone realistically expected high uptake on boosters, and certainly didn't do much to make that happen.
