@loisrp @michaelmina_lab @CDCgov It never made sense that infecting other workers would help with workforce availability. If one worker comes back five days early and infects another worker (likely), that's another five sick days. Dog chasing its tail.

@David_LKaplan @mehdirhasan Consider, to expand the court you need either a filibuster-proof trifecta (extremely rare) or at least a regular trifecta if willing to adjust rules (nuclear options).
There is no way to know when Republicans will ever have that. Might happen in 2024, might not for decades.

@David_LKaplan @mehdirhasan "Makes sense" is vague I would agree.
But it is also clear you don't need *perpetual* effect to be worthwhile.
Republicans blocked a nominee for a year *without* being able to prevent Democrats from doing the same in the future (and gained from it)
A bird in the hand and such.

@arthur_affect This isn't quite true. Wellness incentives are allowed.
There may be significant complications, this particular program may be poorly designed, etc. but the concept isn't flat out prohibited.

@David_LKaplan @mehdirhasan Or alternately, don't expand but make clear it is on the table and negotiate.
Taking it off the table as Democrats have done is self-defeating.

@David_LKaplan @mehdirhasan Didn't need to. And like I said, they did effectively expand it: Back to 9 under favorable conditions after holding it to 8 under unfavorable conditions.
Play all your cards, and negotiate to reform the process is the best way forward.

@David_LKaplan @mehdirhasan Republicans already shrunk the court to 8 and then expanded it to 9, and have recently stated they will do it again. That ship has sailed.
The best case would be negotiating longer term reform, but that only happens from a place of relative balance, not restraint on one side.

@GochenourSharon @joaquinlife @TheAngryEpi @CDCgov Yes that's common. If you look at the tests they almost all have a bar code. If they're not being reported through an app it is because some policymaker decided they didn't want to know.
