@JoeDouglas4Prez @xTurtlePunch @libtoks @runnertyler @jstrandt @eugenegu @ianbremmer Not locking down doesn't even remotely prevent housemates from infecting either other, plenty of time spent at home regardless.
@JoeDouglas4Prez@xtortlepunch@libtoks@runnertyler@jstrandt@eugenegu@ianbremmer
@JoeDouglas4Prez @xTurtlePunch @libtoks @runnertyler @jstrandt @eugenegu @ianbremmer "Most transmission within the home" just means that the average home has >2 people. Transmission has to take place between homes and that is mostly in public settings.
@libtoks @xTurtlePunch @jstrandt @eugenegu @ianbremmer Over two years. Not in a few months.
"Everyone got it" is the best argument one can come up with for lockdowns, since it shows that there isn't any magic pre-existing immunity nor do you reach herd immunity with 20% infected. Its an enormous curve that must be at least flattened
@dustinpeters_n @Inkling61 @fkronawitter1 @ianbremmer I'm in no way whatsoever advocating for inflation. I'm saying that IF you wanted to spend all that money, taxing to pay for it would avoid the inflation. When was the last time a war, disaster, or other crisis was paid for with taxes? Inflation is now coming home to roost.
@Dustinpiters\n@Inkling61@fkronawitter1@ianbremmer
@dustinpeters_n @Inkling61 @fkronawitter1 @ianbremmer Word salad.
It used to be obvious that you pay for expensive public works with taxes. Printing out of thin air is a way to avoid the hard truth that you have to pay for it either way.
Perhaps we are in violent agreement, but with your poor writing, hard to tell.
@Dustinpiters\n@Inkling61@fkronawitter1@ianbremmer Word salad。
@dustinpeters_n @Inkling61 @fkronawitter1 @ianbremmer No, it wouldn't create more misery. The spending was the real cost. Paying for it with inflation doesn't suddenly reduce misery.
@Dustinpiters\n@Inkling61@fkronawitter1@ianbremmer
@dustinpeters_n @Inkling61 @fkronawitter1 @ianbremmer You could have taxed the well off and still working (including WfH with the same income and lower expenses from no commute) to pay the benefits instead of printing. But you didn't.
@DrSeaPerle @DropletsAreFake @DFisman I guess it depends on age. Later working age, yes, lots of taxes already paid, no benefits paid. Profit! Early working age is a net loss in terms of tax revenue, and also economic output.
@DrSeaPerle@DropletsAreFake@DFisman
@DFisman @DrSeaPerle What do you call explicit? Consider the converse, if working-age people were dying and pensioners were unaffected. "Save the economy" would have been a different sort of rallying cry.
@DFisman@DrSeaPerle
@NoyesJHumphrey @dianaberrent @Survivor_Corps 1. Having caught covid implies greater pre-existing propensity to catch covid (environment, behavior, biology)
2. Catching covid people think they have super immunity or "got it over with" so behaviorally even more likely going forward.
3. Post-covid biology?
@NoyesHumphrey@dianaberrent@Survivor\u Corps 1。
