The change to Validators handling block information would also mean that Hotspots can provide consistent coverage for devices on the Network with little to no downtime due to blockchain issues.

Since the genesis block, the @Helium blockchain has run entirely on the physical Hotspot. With the rapid growth of the Helium Network, this has led to an increasing load on Hotspots in terms of computing requirements. A transition to Light Hotspot software changes this.

Light Hotspot software would allow Hotspots to participate in data transfer as well as Proof-of-Coverage beaconing and witnessing, via Validators.
