@RobertCNott @Rsc001Sish @Yoli22258018 @GrondaMorin @BSBonner The agreement binds Russia to seek Security Concil action to protect Ukraine. A veto would be yet another violation.
@RobertCNott@Rsc001Sish@Yoli22258018@GrondaMorin@BSBonner
@ems_jn Here's another study of in-flight transmission, exhaustively contact traced and confirmed with genomic sequencing. Passengers infected all seated near each other showing the effects of short range transmission. Airplane ventilation isn't sufficient.

@ems_jn Mannequins are less conducive to transmission. They don't turn their heads toward another passenger. They don't circulate around the cabin or use rest rooms. They don't take their masks off to eat or drink.
Reality is WORSE than what a mannequin study would suggest, not better.
@realMrFrank @juli_bg_bs It'll drive demand, but not specifically for gas. A lot of it will get spent on other things. This could be bad for broader inflation, but likewise for cutting the gas tax.
@realMrFrank@juli_bg_________________________________。很多钱会花在其他事情上。这可能不利于更广泛的通货膨胀,但同样也不利于削减天然气税。
@Yaunkar @LostWeapons How many of those nukes work?
@Yaunkar@LostWeapons
@LynnLund13 @LazarusLong13 @BolognaFishMD @WHOSTP @AlondraNelson46 The focus on someone leaving the room strikes me as a distraction. Sure, it happens on occasion, but the vast majority of transmission has to be while people are in the same room.
@LynnLund13@LazarusLong13@BolognaFishMD@WHOSTP@AlondraNelson46
@realMrFrank @juli_bg_bs It absolutely is efficient during a supply disruption. The high pump price continues to encourage cutting back on usage while the rebate helps with the financial impact.
Places cutting the tax at the pump are encouraging more demand, and likely driving up the gas price.
@C02Equinox @Isvac007 @RealSexyCyborg @DrLeanaWen (Which is not to say that brain fog is not real, it's just harder to document. Physical brain damage has been measured though.)
@C02Equinox@Isvac007@RealSexyCyborg@DrLeanaWen(这并不是说脑雾不是真的,只是更难记录。不过,已经测量了物理性脑损伤。)
@C02Equinox @Isvac007 @RealSexyCyborg @DrLeanaWen All of those are well documented in recent studies.
It is the more subjective symptoms like "brain fog" that make more sense to debate. Anyone debating these is just stupid or dishonest.
@C02Equinox@Isvac007@RealSexyCyborg@DrLeanaWen
@C02Equinox @Isvac007 @RealSexyCyborg @DrLeanaWen Or maybe not lucky. Not all the damage is immediately visible. Increased risk of subsequent diabetes, increased risk of subsequent cardiovascular events, decline in kidney function, etc.
@C02Equinox@Isvac007@RealSexyCyborg@DrLeanaWen
@blahEhhGee @alt1na1 @RealSexyCyborg @DrLeanaWen That's not organic. It's what you expect when you have one large outbreak (Wuhan) followed by near-elimination.
@ems_jn Article also notes that if people are talking, risk is increased by about 10x, along with other potential higher risks (bathrooms, infectious people moving about the cabin so exposure not limited to nearby seats, etc.)
@PoppaGeorgio5 @ems_jn 20 air exchanges is good, but not sufficient to prevent accumulation of risk of mostly near-field transmission (i.e. someone breathing directly on you before the air is exchanged or filtered) over time. See article linked in other reply.
@ems_jn 1. There are numerous case reports of transmission on planes, particularly longer flights (which supports the notion of accumulated risk) e.g. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/p...
2. Correction: 54 hours, I misremembered.

@ems_jn 1。 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/p...

@wsbgnl Interesting how the blue check antimaskers are often talking about how it is unfair to vaccinated people, yet vaccinated people support this MORE than unvaccinated.
@SalemJakes Variants are multiple times more transmissible yet CDC guidelines on what constitutes a close contact haven't budged since early 2020.
Make it make sense.
@jeremyfaust There is plenty of transmission on planes. With masks, with immobile dummies, ignoring boarding, ignoring food and drinks, with wild type virus airline study estimated one infection from nearby index case per 55 flight hours. Reality has to be much worse.
@wsbgnl Did the person who just equated masking in a pharmacy with banning weddings then link her old article warning us to beware of extremes?
Yes she did.
@SenLambert_IN @BenjySarlin 7% would probably be all black females, but not women. Have to subtract kids.
