@JellyKind @JStein_WaPo Also, it's not the case that individuals will always ignore it either. They usually don't want to infect their friends, family, etc. If CDC says you're safe after 5 days that's going to result in different behavior from saying you're safe after 5 days with a negative test.
@JellyKind @JStein_WaPo Major employers defining covid policy won't ignore it, that's what matters.
If people want to ignore CDC and go out to a bar, they're going to do it no matter what CDC recommends.
@BirdAppAnt @QuentinJKenned1 @JStein_WaPo There were numerous public statements from Fauci Walensky and maybe others that it was for economic reasons. They were suggestive of critical infrastructure but when you have the same rules being applied to non-CI jobs and airlines which are now mostly vacation travel...
@JellyKind @JStein_WaPo It can't not be feasible. Worst case is you quarantine for the full 10 days. If you can get a test, and the test is negative, you get out early. Far from clear this is worse in any way than going out and infecting more people including coworkers.
@JellyKind@JStein_WaPo这不可能。
@LucioMM1 @DeniseTuart @AbraarKaran Your last statement is ridiculous. Touching a respirator does not reduce efficacy to zero. Even somewhat degraded fit factor still has some efficacy. There are studies showing decent filtration even with a short beard.
@LucioMM1@DeniseTuart@AbraarKaran
@AbraarKaran It is extremely "odd" that something that was entirely an improvized solution to a shortage (cloth masks) persists as a solution. Shows extreme dysfunction.
The inconsistency with respirators being recommended (including by CDC) for wildfires EVEN RIGHT NOW is more illustration.
@AllieWag @michaelmina_lab @KillBrexitNow Employers, schools, etc. following the (better) state guidance rather than (asinine) CDC guidance will require a test and better masking. It's as simple as that. Doesn't require an average person to read the fine print.
@michaelmina_lab @AllieWag @KillBrexitNow It's the nature of twitter that people OFTEN see tweets in a disconnected, out of context, manner (due to also surfacing, different retweets, etc.). Probably didn't see your others against CDC policy.
